Intended Audience:Wastewater Operators, Utility Managers, Utility Board Members

This 4-hr virtual workshop discusses the basic operating principles of wastewater treatment lagoons and operator tasks associated with operation, maintenance, monitoring, and compliance. By the end of this class, attendees will be able to do the following:

> List key monitoring parameters to evaluate lagoon performance.
> Describe daily operator duties necessary for wastewater lagoon operation.
> Explain the causes of excess sludge accumulation and discuss solutions.
> Analyze compliance problems that can occur with wastewater lagoons.

This training has been approved for a maximum of 0.3 CEUs of waste water training by the Oregon Environmental Services Advisory Council (OESAC), but the information covered will be beneficial to any state.

This workshop has been approved by the Michigan Water Resources Operator Certification and Training program for up to 0.3 CECs for technical wastewater continuing education credits. (updated: 9/30/24)
